The Machine Vision and Optical Sensor (MVOS) Lab at South Dakota State University focuses on advancing precision agriculture by harnessing cutting-edge technologies. Located in the Department of Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering, the MVOS Lab uses specialized imaging techniques, such as multispectral, hyperspectral, and fluorescence imaging, to detect and manage crop diseases and pests more effectively. The lab develops custom AI-driven computer vision models and builds specialized agricultural robots and drones to address pressing agricultural challenges. The MVOS Lab is committed to improving food safety, security, and sustainability in South Dakota and beyond.Â
