College names Future Innovators of America | South Dakota State University
The MVOS lab secures funding from South Dakota Nutrient Research & Education Council to conduct study on a project titled "Estimation of Nitrogen Status in Corn Leaves Using Convolutional Neural Network, Machine Learning and Hyperspectral Imaging ". It will be a collaborative effort among the MVOS lab at SDSU, Department of Agronomy, Horticulture and Plant Science at SDSU, University of Florida and USDA ARS.
The MVOS lab group showcased different aspects of AI and robotics in agriculture at Washington Pavilion, Sioux Falls event.
The MVOS lab group joined faculty and staff from the ABE department in showcasing the wide range of degree programs offered by the department to incoming freshmen during the SDSU Senior Day event.

The MVOS lab announces an opening for a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) position at Ph.D. level starting Fall 2024/Spring 2025.
Required Qualifications
· MS degree in Agricultural & Biosystems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related disciplines with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
· Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, C, C++, Julia
· Proficiency in Linux Operating System
· Experience or interests in one or more of the following areas:
o AI-driven Computer Vision
o Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Vision Transformers (ViTs)
o Hyperspectral Imaging System
o Mission Planner/MAVProxy
o Embedded Systems
o Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs)

It will be a collaborative effort among the MVOS lab at SDSU, University of Florida and USDA ARS.
